Hope is More Powerful than Fear
When times are difficult, we have two choices. We can choose to have hope, make the most of it, and come out better and stronger. Otherwise, we can choose to be overcome by our fear. I choose to be better and stronger. To do that, I choose to focus on solutions.
Rather than get caught up in fear, I try to
- Focus on solutions.
- Maintain a positive and supportive attitude.
- Enlist Charles Swindoll’s quote about attitude
Attitude – by Charles Swindoll
The bottom line here is – almost all of us are stuck at home. We can choose to make the most of it and come out better and stronger
The attitude we bring in to a room leaves a mark: it can be a light and inspiration, or it can be a stain of despair. And it doesn’t take long before that attitude begins to “precede” us into the room, so everyone there can anticipate our response to any circumstance.
I hope that every meeting I attend, the expected attitude is that I will be asking to understand of the challenge, and then seeking suggestions to reach a solution.
Even when a satisfactory direction is not found, at least my team will feel that we searched with positive intent and came up with the best solution we could given the circumstances … and always willing to take another look with new information (and no blame-game) to find a better alternative.
Thank you, Dr. Misner, for this important message and sharing the entire Charles Swindoll pice on Attitude. This is an approach I’m recommending to my coaching clients and others on a daily basis.
