Inspiration Starts with Changing Your Words

There is tremendous power in words, and in our speech. We use words every day to communicate, to express our thoughts and feelings, and yet we often forget how powerful they can be and how important it is that we choose them with care.
In a previous blog, What is Your Verb?, I stated that my verb is inspire. I want to inspire people.
I want to inspire people – who inspire people. I want someone to look at you and say, “Because of you, I didn’t give up. Because of you, I have learned so much more. Because of you, I am a better leader. Because of you, I am a success today.”
I want you to inspire people. I want you to inspire people to be… “their better selves.” I want you to inspire people to help others. I want you to inspire people – who inspire other people.
Inspired people not only motivate themselves, they also spur on others to perform at their highest potential. Inspired people encourage others to contribute, sharing their energy and excitement through their words and their actions. They are motivated by personal and professional rewards that they are eager to share with others, and they sincerely want to motivate others to succeed.
To set your network in motion toward helping your business, I recommend that you make it your goal to
become an inspirational person. Think of your network as a row of standing dominoes. Each domino will remain standing until you are inspired to act upon the first one. To motivate change, you must tap the first domino to see the chain reaction of tumbling dominoes. Similarly, your business network is standing in place, waiting for you to inspire the people in it to inspire others. Become inspirational and start the chain reaction.
Change your Words, Inspire your World
Inspiration starts with changing your words. Words are how we communicate, and it is through our communication that we inspire others to motivate themselves. Throughout human history, great leaders have used the inspirational power of words to inspire others to begin making a difference in the world.
Words matter. What you say about your own experience helps determine the world that you live in. It also influences the people you attract into your world or into your networking group. What you put in your head shows up in your world. Whether you are talking about an abundance mentality versus a scarcity mentality, the law of attraction, or the glass being half full, words matter.
The most common example of this from my own life involves “being busy”. I talk to so many people who say, “Oh, you must be so busy, Ivan.” Well, I no longer say yes to that question.
I say, “I have a full life.” I believe that you can be busy, or you can have a full life. Almost everyone says that their life is busy. However, I don’t think that ‘busy’ should be a goal worth pursuing. If being busy was everyone’s goal, then most individuals would be happy and that is not what I see with most people. Having a “full life” is a goal worth pursuing and having a “full life” brings me joy.
Words truly matter. Our words can impact our own lives. Our words can also inspire others. Inspired people are motivated to help others, to be active in their communities, and to make a difference in the world.
I think this video is an inspirational example of the impact of our words.
Inspirar ao próximo é uma dádiva, acredito que nossas ações sejam até mais inspiradoras que nossas palavras! Exemplos sempre são seguidos
Most inspiring sad and uplifting video ever. I feel blessed to have it shared with me… and grateful to have taken the moment towatch it. Danke

The video was inspiring
Truly Inspirational. Leaving a full life matters a lot than leading a busy life.
Words can make or break your self. It motivates self & also round your self.
Thanks a ton.
That is powerful
I have a ‘full life’ is outstanding for me, i remember a friend of mine on time telling me to differentiate between activity and productivity. May my words begin to inspire the networks i am in.
What an inspiring post. I am definitely not the busiest person, i am the person who is living life fully. There is so much fun and positivity in living a full life. I ALWAYS get that comment, GADI you are very busy hey. Now i have a better way to answer to that comment. Thank you Dr I for sharing this powerhouse story.
Nice one
Am always by your word sir, your full of life and wisdom.
What you say and how you say matters. And not to be to busy to use good words.
What you say and how you say matters. And not to be too busy to use good words.
Thank you Dr. Misner for a better way to handle this constant question. In the insurance industry we sure are very “busy” but I think this response will not only provide a more positive response, but it will also lighten the burden insurance causes.
I love this video as it reminds me to be grateful for every day.
Thank you, Dr. Misner. I read this post today, immediately before my first project of the day. I have been tasked with delivering the educational moment for my BNI chapters (Paul Bunyan BNI in Bangor, Maine). When I looked at the BNI-prepared slides, I learned about “The Little Book of Gratitude.” Your blog post and the slides inspired me to purchase and read that book immediately. That allowed me to give a more personal feel to next Tuesday’s educational moment. Thank you for your blog post and the philosophy of Givers Gain.
Amazing! Thank you, Ivan! Love this!
