Fast Pitch Networking

In my monthly column on Entrepreneur.com, I wrote about the 5 Ways To Break Into Online Networking. One of the things I recommended was to “join one or more online networking communities.”

There are a lot out there to choose from today. However, there’s a new one on the web that I’m impressed with. It’s called FastPitchNetworking.com. It has many of the same features most online networks have, such as the ability to create a profile, and promote your website, blog and professional services, as well as the ability to connect with other people in the program. However, it has some new features, and one in particular that I really like.

The feature that I haven’t seen on any other online network is the press release program. Becoming a Premium Member for as little as $9 a month allows you to post unlimited press releases to 20 media outlets (including Google and Yahoo) that will promote your press release across the internet. Most PR services charge much more than that (believe me, I know).

In addition, members of the service have the ability to send their release to 50,000 members at a time and can choose which 50,000 to send to by industry, type and/or geography. FastPitch is the only social network that allows its members to leverage the network in this way.

I tried the service out just prior to International Networking Week to promote networking events around the world. Within a couple of days, I saw my press release promoted on Google and Yahoo!

I recommend my readers take a look. Click here for information on the press release program. For general information, click here.

I’d love to hear about your experiences on this online network and others.

  1. A friend referred me to Fast Pitch specifically to utilize the press release feature and I had very positive results. I have found Fast Pitch to be far superior to other social networking organizations to which I belong. I always feel that my time at this site is well spent. My business, The Prosperity Cast Network, utilizes social networking as the primary means of doing business on the Internet. I know that I can depend on the people I meet here to be real professionals.

  2. I had the same experience with Fast Pitch. Overall “Best” social network for business relating to the features it provides me to market my business. As Ivan mentioned, their Press service is great, because I get high rankings in Google for my press… but they have also helped me build a ton of traffic to my blog as well.

I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a way to network and market their business on the web.

  3. I joined Fast Pitch over 8 months ago. I quit (or so I thought) 5 months ago. While I had followed their instructions to the letter, 99% of the people contacting me through FP were trying to sell me real estate or were looking for a job. Additionally, I did not load my outlook contacts on to FP, but did link to Linked In. BIG MISTAKE.

After I erased my profile and left 5 messages requesting Fast Pitch to discontinue my membership, FP started contacting my Linked In contacts weekly, asking them to join FP! I again tried their site (my profile was still on there so I “erased” it again), left more messages on their phone system (no one ever answers their phones), and tried “live chat” (again, lights on, no one there) with similar results. My Linked In contacts are still being harrassed weekly and I’m at my wits end trying to get Fast Pitch to stop both my membership and the weekly email invitations from “me” to my contacts.

My warning to all of you–beware of joining them. It’s like “Hotel California”–you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!
